The Challenges of the 2030 AGENDA
The Politics of Climate Change from the Global to the Local
Prof. Louisa Parks
Abstract

In this short lecture we will explore some of the fundamental political questions debated over time in the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC). We’ll then take a look at how citizens across the world have engaged with and shaped responses to climate change – in recent years young people have been particularly important in this respect.

The lecture ends with some reflections about why climate activism matters in light of our failure to make real progress on climate change objectives, including those in Agenda 2030.
