Homo Cooperans in our Metamodern Times: Navigating Challenges and Opportunities
A real-world approach to learning through cooperation and building democracy both inside and outside of school
Prof. Pier Giuseppe Ellerani
Abstract
The Schooling Cooperative Association (SCA) is a pedagogical model that organizes the learning environment within the formal education system using a non-formal structure. The SCA is a real entrepreneurial organization, imagined, developed, and run by students. The pedagogical perspective of the SCA includes principles such as democracy, participation, understanding through interdisciplinary design, citizenship, and the development of competence frameworks like LifeComp and GreenComp. The activities of the SCA focus on creating services and/or products for learning in real contexts and enhancing the quality of life within communities.
